Albert is yet another former camper turned staff member. Albert is entering his third year as a New Heights staff member. Albert came to Camp New Heights for just a week in 2018, but he returned in 2019 to do all six weeks. Albert's transformation was incredible to witness. Not only did Albert change physically and challenge himself everyday, he grew exponentially from a social and emotional standpoint that made him into a natural leader. Albert's charisma is second nature to him and it's a positive force that welcomes campers in and allows them to feel as though they belong in the New Heights' family.
Albert is currently a student at Cal State Northridge after transferring from UC Merced. His knowledge and determination have made him an excellent student and someone with major ambitions. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Albert was a standout soccer player throughout his high school years. If you're fortunate enough you can still catch a glimpse of his brilliance on the pitch in rec league on Sundays in the San Fernando area.
Interviewer: Could you please tell us a bit about yourself and your experience with Camp New Heights?
Albert: I am currently a full time college student, majoring in human biology. When i'm not at school I work part time at an after school for elementary kids. In my free time I like to play soccer, go to the gym and hang out with friends and family. In 2018 I had the opportunity to attend the camp as a camper, and I returned the following summer in 2019.
